Accommodations

Where will I be staying?

Volunteers will be staying at a homestay or shared volunteer dorms depending on your destination. Homestays are local families that open up their homes to volunteers. (These families are safe and have been vetted by Build Abroad.) Most volunteers love staying with a homestay and think this gives them a more unique experience. In some of our locations we also have dorms available for larger groups or by request.

If I’m traveling with someone, can we be placed together?

Of course! When signing up, please tell us the name of the person who you are volunteering with and we will place you two in the same homestay.

Will I have access to wifi?

Almost all of our homestays have wifi access. Wifi access in developing countries is usually not as quick as you are probably used to though!
